Sam Kerns is a director, writer, stylist, performance artist and experimental filmmaker based in New York City.
His debut short film “Hive Wedding” competed in film festivals nationally, including the Chicago Film Festival and the Nitehawk Film Festival in Brooklyn. He has served on creative teams with Cincinnati Opera, Cincinnati Fringe Festival, Maison des Scénaristes, Playhouse in the Park, Opera America, TimeLine Theatre, and the National Alliance for Musical Theatre.
In addition to directing for stage and screen, Sam works as a freelance stylist in New York City. His on set styling clients include CVS, Meta, Chase Bank, Kiehls, Silver Jeans, Ring Concierge, and others. His work and aesthetic draws inspiration from camp sensibilities, arthouse films, grand opera, and haute couture.
As a multi-hyphenate artist, he gravitates towards projects allowing for a combination of various art forms and creative expression.
